2022 Edible Holiday Gifts – Part 2

These ranch seasoned pretzels are a quick and easy snack, perfect as a game day treat, a road trip snack, or for holiday gift giving.

Just a few simple ingredients

It takes only five ingredients to make these pretzels. With Hidden Valley Ranch Dip mix one of the main ingredients, it’s like having your party dip and dipper in one. The flavor of the dip mix is enhanced with dried dill and garlic powder for a little extra zing. You could even add some cayenne pepper if you want to make spicy pretzels. The popcorn oil not only helps the dried seasoning adhere to the pretzels but also adds some buttery flavoring.

What type of pretzel?

While you could use thin pretzel sticks, we prefer the thicker honey wheat braided twists like the ones made by Utz. These pretzels have less salt and a slight sweetness that goes well with the seasonings. And they make a more substantial dipper if you are serving them with dips or spreads. (Fun fact: if you are making a big batch for gift giving, get the big 56-ounce tub of Utz pretzels at Sam’s Club.)

Gifting ideas

You could simply gift these pretzels in a festive airtight container. Or you could package them up in a fun serving dish along with some dip mixes. Or you could include a bag of these pretzels along with other snack items like some Everything Spiced Nuts and Furikake Crixpix Mix.
