Where to Eat: KCC Farmers’ Market

Dining Guide - KCC Farmers' Market

May 31, 2024

Located at the base of Diamond Head, the Saturday morning farmer’s market at Kapiolani Community College is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. Farm fresh produce, locally made products, and delicious prepared foods are all found within the market.

Here are some of our favorite places to eat:

Shrimp and fish ceviche on homemade tostada from Cocina de Mama

Cocina de Mama

Taking advantage of the fresh seafood in Hawaii, ceviche from Cocina de Mama is a delicious change from the many wonderful island pokes.

Blue Hawaii burger with truffle fries from Honolulu Burger Company

Honolulu Burger Company

Not only are we able to get our burger fix at the farmer’s market, we are fortunate to live very close to the brick & mortar restaurant in Kaimuki Town. The Blue Hawaii burger with parmesan truffle fries is our favorite combo.

Middle Eats - Double Pita Falafel

Middle Eats

Middle Eats is our go to for, in our opinion, the best falafel sandwich on the island. They also make delicious grilled chicken, beef, or lamb kofta skewers.

They recently started working out of ghost kitchen for people to order and pickup. We hope they’ll return to the farmer’s market soon.

Mochi donut stick

Mochi Aulelei

Donuts on a stick are nothing new but these are mochi donuts! These gluten-free, vegan donuts come in delicious flavors like poi, ube, and coconut.

Papi's Empanadas - Empanadas and chimichurri

Papi’s Empanadas

This family-run stand has a rotating menu of empanadas served with an amazing chimichurri for dipping. And don’t forget to grab some alfajores for dessert.

Pig & the Lady

Pig & the Lady is also a brick & mortar restaurant in Chinatown but they never left their farmer’s market roots. You’ll find traditional and re-imagined Vietnamese noodle bowls and sandwiches. Our favorite is the Pho French Dip and, more recently, the Bò Lúc Lắc (shaking beef).

Risotto cakes, fried mushrooms, and fried zucchini from Small Kine Farm

Small Kine Farm

With all the delicious food to be found at the market, this stand remains one of our favorites. The risotto cakes, mushroom bites, and zucchini spears are all delicious – we can’t pick a favorite!
