Homemade Guri Guri

  • Author: She's Almost Always Hungry
  • Total Time: 6 hours, 5 minutes
  • Yield: 14 1x

Description

This is a homemade version of a popular frozen treat found on Maui. It is the perfect cool treat for a hot summer day. Strawberry is one of the traditional flavors, but feel free to substitute your favorite fruity soda.

Ingredients

Scale

2 12-ounce cans strawberry soda

1 12-ounce can lemon lime soda

1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and the heavy cream. Gently add the sodas, being careful as the mixture will foam up. Mix well.

If you have an ice cream machine, you could place the mixture in the machine and freeze it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Otherwise, place the mixture in a freezer container that will allow for some expansion as the mixture freezes. Mixture should be frozen for at least 6-8 hours. To maintain a soft serve texture, mix every hour after the first 2 hours.
