Description
This fall punch is a combination of sweet-tart apple cider, Southern bourbon, and herbal thyme. It’s a festive way to kick off a holiday feast.
Ingredients
Thyme Simple Syrup
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup water
¼ cup loosely packed thyme sprigs
Bourbon Apple Cider Thyme Punch
4 cups apple cider
2½ cups bourbon
1¼ cups club soda
Thyme Simple Syrup
1 apple, thinly sliced
Thyme sprigs, for garnish
Instructions
For the thyme simple syrup
Combine sugar, water, and thyme sprigs in a small saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil over medium-high, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.
Remove from heat, and cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes. Remove and discard thyme sprigs.
For the punch
Stir together apple cider, bourbon, club soda, and Thyme simple syrup, in a pitcher. Serve over ice, and garnish with apple slices and thyme sprigs.
Notes
The original recipe called for 12 dashes of Angostura bitters which you can add back in to create the original punch.
