Description
This bubbly, refreshing drink features sweet and tangy guava. It’s perfect for a party or a summer afternoon, lounging in the shade.
Ingredients
1 pound guavas
2/3 cup sugar, to taste*
2 cups water (still)
4 cups sparkling water
Instructions
Cut off the ends of the guavas and cut into 1″ chunks. Place in a blender.
Add the sugar and the 2 cups of still water. Blend until the guava are broken down (about 60 seconds).
Strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the seeds and pulp.
Add the sparkling water. Taste and add more sugar if desired. Chill at least 1 hour.
Serve over ice and garnish with mint and lime slices. Add a splash of rum or vodka for an adult beverage.
Notes
*The common guavas found in Hawaii are on the sweeter side and not as tart. More sugar may be needed to balance more tart varieties.
